Summer fun on three wheels
Are you looking for an active holiday in Brixen? The Nussbaumerhof is a box seat with a view on all the attractions that Plose has to offer. From St. Leonhard it is only a stone’s throw to the Plose-Seilbahn. This begins running in June, and opens up the summer season on the Brixner Hausberg. Here you will find a huge range of activities like mountain biking, hang gliding and marathon running right down to the newest ways to have fun in the mountains. How about a go on a mountain cart, for example? This is a combination of bike, go-cart and mountain bike, and you can drive it through the forest down to the Plose-Talstation. Great fun for children and adults!
Or have you ever tried geocaching? With the help of a GPS or smartphone, you go on a treasure hunt. You find the treasure with the help of GPS coordinates, a bit of wit, and some patience. A joy for children, tech-geeks and adults still young at heart. The treasure is not gold – but a booklet in which you enter all successful points. There is also a web portal for showing off your achievements to the rest of the world! Some of the geocaching treasure is hidden on the Plose – so give it a go. Another high point of families is the Woodywalk. This leads from the Plose-Bergstation to Rossalm and gives children many things to explore and discover. There is a wooden raft, hammer mill and tree telephone near the path itself. There are also wooden sculptures along the way to try out gymnastics and agility games.
Courage and condition
The Plose is an Eldorado for endurance sports enthusiasts. That is why the Brixen Dolomiten Marathon has taken place here for many years. It is a chance for advanced runners to compare their physical condition. The local mountain is also popular among downhill riders. The Caidom competition has taken place here for many years, where participants race through the forest on special bikes. There are also less extreme options: the Brixencard gives you a free trip each day on the Plose-Seilbahn. Why not ride up the mountain and enjoy a nice cup of cappuccino with a mountain panorama?
